- Gear output speed (RPM) = input speed / Gear ratio
- Gear output torque = Input torque × Gear ratio
- Gear direction = if the driving gear rotates clockwise, then meshed driven gear will rotate counterclockwise.

In-class reflection
What worked well? What was effective?
- Experiments were good, physical representations, engaging presentation, interactions within the group will help, idea of facilitation instead of teaching, show the not-commonly-known facts through physical representations
- There were many fun examples and good slides
- Math calculations were difficult for gears, writing down the formulas helped a lot
- Monty hall example was difficult to understand, using physical examples to prove and convince the audience
What could be improved? What was not effective?
- Explanation of the examples can be more detailed, the building up of concepts can be better.
- Gears group can possibly use more physical examples to help with visualisation
- Math group can rehearse more to make things less confusing, facilitating is important but delivery is key
